Historique :	"Tableau réalisé par François-Louis Laynaud, peintre à Paris ; don de Napoléon III en 1862 (Brécy, 1956). Bruno Foucart signale, lui, que ce tableau, intitulé "Trait de la vie de saint Louis", a été commandé en 1859 au profit de l'église de Pontoise."

Précision sur l'inscription :	Signature et date (en bas à gauche) : Laynaud Pit 1859.
Précision_sur la representation :	La scène représente Saint Louis malade au château de Pontoise faisant voeu, en 1264, de conduire une expédition en Terre Sainte. On voit le souverain assis sur un fauteuil recevant une importante assemblée ecclésiastique. Une femme, agenouillée, lui présente la prestigieuse relique de la couronne d'épines. Les principaux personnages sont éclairés de manière intense alors que le fond d'architecture du palais se distingue à peine dans la pénombre. Le décor des tissus d'ameublement et des vêtements des personnages est d'une remarquable richesse décorative et chromatique (dossier de présentation en CDOM).
