Précision_sur la representation :	Saint Nicolas, représenté en évêque, tient sa crosse de la main gauche ; la main droite ouverte est levée en geste d'apaisement. Il porte une aube serrée à la taille par un cordon torsadé noué, garni de glands aux extrémités. L'étole très longue, à empattements garnis de passementerie, descend au-dessous du niveau des genoux que l'on devine sous l'étoffe du fait de la position de la jambe droite légèrement avancée. La chaussure droite dépasse à demi sous les plis de l'aube. L'amorce de mouvement des jambes, le traitement naturaliste de la main, du cordon et surtout du visage expressif aux lèvres entrouvertes dans un demi sourire, permettent de situer l'oeuvre dans le 17e siècle.
