Précision_sur la representation :	Saint Jérôme pénitent est représenté selon l'iconographie traditionnelle, au désert dans une caverne, en vieillard barbu et décharné. Vêtu d'une tunique courte et du manteau rouge (chapeau cardinalice posé dans le coin inférieur gauche), le saint se frappe la poitrine avec un caillou et bénit de la main gauche, il est agenouillé sur un rocher (portant une inscription), devant un crucifix lié à un tronc d'arbre mort, posée sur un crâne. La tête du lion couché contre la jambe du saint apparaît dans l'angle droit. A l'arrière-plan se détache un paysage rocheux.
