Précision_sur la representation :	Christ en croix : anatomie très précise et musculature développée. Les jambes sont légèrement fléchies et les pieds croisés. Les mains sont à demi-ouvertes. Le visage aux yeux clos, tourné à droite, est serein. La longue chevelure retombe en un rouleau sur l'épaule droite. Le périzonium, croisé sur la jambe droite, est court mais très plissé ; les chutes de chaque côté sont très longues. Au bas de la croix se trouve une allusion au Golgotha : un petit monticule avec le crâne d'Adam et des ossements. Vierge de douleur : debout, ses mains jointes à droite retiennent le bas du manteau qu'elle a ramené sur la tête à la manière d'un voile. Sous ce manteau, elle porte un voile plissé retombant sur son épaule droite et une tunique retombant en larges plis cassés à ses pieds. Saint Jean au Calvaire : regardant le Christ, il porte sa main droite au coeur. Sa main gauche tient l'Evangile contre sa hanche tout en remontant un pan de son manteau. Il porte une tunique ceinturée et un manteau jeté sur les épaules. Sa chevelure bouclée retombe dans le cou.
