Historique :	Cette statue a été commandée par l'abbé Champagne, ami de l'auteur : Maxime Réal Del Sarte, sculpteur né à Paris le 8 mai 1888 et mort à Paris le 15 février 1954. Il est notamment l'auteur du monument exécuté pour la ville de Rouen : Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher.

Précision_sur la representation :	Saint représenté en costume monastique : nimbé, croix dans main gauche, main droite tendue, paume ouverte, démon agrippé à sa jambe droite. Il s'agit d'une iconographie inhabituelle pour saint Clair du Vexin : ce saint n'est jamais représenté en vainqueur du dragon. On pourrait également y voir une représentation de Bernard de Clairvaux.
