Historique :	Dans l'église de Genainville, une statue monumentale en pierre polychrome datant du début du 17e siècle (classée en 1908, référence Palissy PM95000278) représente saint Pierre tenant une clé démesurée.

Précision_sur la representation :	Saint Pierre est représenté selon son type iconographique le plus répandu, en apôtre : le front dégarni et le visage encadré d'une couronne de cheveux frisés, prolongée par une moustache et une barbe courte et bouclée. Il tient dans sa main gauche son attribut le plus courant, la clé, ici complètement disproportionnée. Dans la paume de sa main droite, il présente un livre ouvert. Par dessus sa tunique tombant en plis serrés sur ses pieds nus, il porte une toge à l'antique, maintenue par une broche sur l'épaule droite. La bordure des vêtements et la clé ont été dorées. Si le visage de l'apôtre a été traité avec soin et si les effets de drapé permettent d'animer cette figure sinon plutôt statique, certains détails révèlent des maladresses, comme les pieds, particulièrement disgracieux.
