Précision_sur la representation :	Cette scène familiale se situe entre les colonnes d'un palais : la Vierge Marie, assise entre deux femmes, vêtue d'une robe rouge, tient l'Enfant Jésus sur les genoux. Les femmes s'affairent à la toilette du bébé auréolé d'étoiles : l'une d'elles lui essuie la tête, l'autre tend les langes. Une cuvette est placée sur le dallage du parvis. Au second plan, deux autres femmes sont prêtes à intervenir pour revêtir l'enfant tandis qu'une troisième accourt avec des flacons ; une femme auréolée est couchée sous un baldaquin. A l'arrière plan, on découvre un paysage de soir d'été : frondaison, soleil couchant sous les nuages.
