Historique :	Manière et style proches de Joseph-Siffred Duplessis, 1725-1802. L'oeuvre a vraisemblablement été peinte en 1768, date que l'on lit sur le papier qu'à écrit le marquis. Les quelques mots précédents la date sont illisibles.

Précision_sur la representation :	Il est figuré à mi-corps assis sur une chaise en bois doré garnie d'un brocard rouge. Il est de trois-quart droit et regarde devant lui le spectateur. Il est vêtu d'un habit foncé brodé de fleurs, d'une chemise blanche à manches et jabot en dentelles. Il est coiffé d'une perruque grise, son visage rond s'illumine d'un grand sourire. Sur le papier qu'il a écrit, on lit seulement la date 1768.
