Historique :	Ecole française. La Mère Anne de Jésus (Anne de Lobéra, 1545-1621), est l'une des six Carmélites venues d'Espagne en 1604 et fut prieure du premier Carmel à Paris. En janvier 1605, elle présida à la fondatino du Carmel de Pontoise. Pendant un temps prieure au Carmel de Dijon, elle partit pour les Flandres en 1607. Ce tableau est une copie réduite et simplifiée d'un tableau conservé au Carmel de l'Incarnation à Clamart. Une gravure d'Anton Wieriw (Anvers, vers 1552-id., vers 1624) est à l'origine de cette composition.
