Historique :	Commande de Marie Leczinska en 1753 pour un des cabinets de son appartement privé du château de Versailles. Deux dessus-de-porte commandés par le Directeur des Bâtiments du roi (futur marquis de Marigny) à Vien, rentré depuis 1750 de Rome. Agréé en 1751 à l'Académie, il était fort apprécié à la cour depuis les diverses commandes reçues en 1752 de la part de Mme de Pompadour. Sujets donnés par la reine, Saint Thomas en apôtre prêchant les indiens (disparu) et Saint François-Xavier en habit de jésuite arrivant sur un vaisseau en Chine. Don en 1851 à l'église par le peintre André Giroux. Déposé par la ville de l'Isle-Adam au château de Versailles vers 2003.
